Hi guys! Welcome back to my channel. I know it’s been a while. I have really missed connecting with all of you on here! I’m so excited to be back and posting on here regularly again!
In today’s video, I wanted to share a little bit about what’s been going on with me since I had my daughter Teddy. Motherhood has been one of the most wonderful, beautiful and special things I have ever experienced but those first few months, I definitely struggled with my mental health. I had heard so much about postpartum depression but I had never heard about postpartum anxiety which is what I experienced.
I thought I was prepared for postpartum. I had the nursery set up, family near by, a supportive husband, all the baby supplies, I had taken some courses and I even had someone here helping me take care of my newborn but nothing could have prepared me for what was next.
I am so grateful that I was able to afford and have access to all of the things I mentioned in preparation for Teddy's arrival but unfortunately even though I had help and all of my ducks in a row, I still experienced postpartum anxiety which was uncomfortable, painful and a very isolating experience. I wanted to share what my postpartum anxiety looked like, how it felt and what actually helped me feel better.
It’s so important to take care of your mental health and it can be so hard to reach out for help. If you are struggling with your mental health right now, if you take anything away from this video, I hope this encourages you to reach out to a friend or a therapist to get the support that you need.
