PS5 Virtual Reality: How Does it Compare?
Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Sub_to_TheGamer
VR is still a new thing in video games, and this isn’t just talking about adoption:The technology itself is still young, and it’s widely acknowledged both the games and the hardware are still primitive now, compared to what we can imagine and where the medium is likely going. That being said, on the market today the VR headsets available for purchase come in at radically different price points, but there is no truly luxury, revolutionary, ultra-comfortable and easy-to-use headset on the market, no matter how much you’re willing to pay.
Headsets, essentially, all do the same thing and offer the same sets of features, but depending on how much cash you have to burn, you can do these things in higher resolutions and at higher frame rates with wider fields of view. That might be nice, but if you aren’t interested in the sensation of playing in VR or you don’t like how VR games play today, that’s not going to change if you upgrade from the PSVR to the Index.
This is to say that the PSVR offers the full-featured VR experience, from games to controllers to tracking to everything in-between, and while this might not be the highest fidelity experience, it’s the cheapest way to enjoy what VR gaming is actually like today without any major compromises. If you haven’t experienced the high-end, PSVR will still, likely, blow your mind, and you’ll be able to understand how worth it, for you, more expensive headsets might be.
