Farewell Spit, in New Zealand, is a narrow sand pit that is known as the 'whale trap'. In 2017, hundreds of whales found themselves beached on this very shore, in need of urgent rescuing. We speak to the one of the volunteers who was on a mission to help bring these majestic creatures to safety.
