Hybrid cars were growing in popularity during the early 2000's. Cars like the Toyota Prius and Lexus RX400h led the pack in clean energy- but Toyota didn't want electric propulsion to be associated with slow and boring cars like these. So they collaborated with Italdesign to create an affordable exotic supercar- using the drivetrain of a Lexus RX. the 3.3-liter V6 was paired with two electric motors and tuned to produce a total 400 horsepower for all four wheels. It was even rumored to preview features that could be on the next-gen Toyota Supra. Sadly, Toyota's legendary cheap jdm supercar, named the Toyota Volta, never made it to production. Would this have been the best cheap supercar to come from Japan?
