It's the set of our sails that determines,
Our journey's end and what we'll uncover.

The walled city we inhabit may be flawed,
But we can repair it, make it a laud,
A heroic adventure awaits,
As we man the barricades and fix the gates.

We have gifts, talents, and treasures to share,
To make a difference, to show we care,
We all have greatness within us, waiting to manifest,
To make the world better, to give it our best.

We seek not just a meaningful life,
But to truly be alive, to feel the strife,
To find what makes us come alive,
And to embrace the neurochemistry, where we thrive.

To earn happiness and security,
We must deserve it, accept our value with purity,
We come into this world with nothing,
But with good works and understanding, we gain something.

Nature gives us the securities we need,
And we must look around us and take heed,
To see those who rise above the emergencies of living,
And learn from them, to be more giving.

Most happy people cherish little things,
With patience, understanding, and gratitude, they bring,
They're grateful for small mercies in life,
And they don't blame others for their strife.

We're not born pessimists, we train ourselves to be,
And we blame others for our tragedy,
But if we accept that we're wrecking our own lives,
We can make things better, and that's no surprise.

So set your sails, embrace your gifts,
Repair the city, and make life a gift,
For in the end, it's not what happens that defines,
But what we do about it, that truly shines.
